Hi there! My name is Trixie. I am about 2.5 years old and I think I am a Plott Hound/Lab. I’m not really sure. I don’t know where I came from or anything about my parents. My last owner dumped me at Shelley and David’s house, right before Christmas 2016. I don’t really remember how I got there. My new owners took me in and have taken really good care of me. I am healthy and spoiled rotten! They have had to learn a lot of information about dogs in a very short time. Shelley learned so much about taking care of me, she thought you might have questions about caring for your dog. She asked me to tell you about what we have learned, sometimes the hard way, so that life for you and your dog might be made easier.
I had a rocky start (you can read about it in my posts) for about the first 4 months of living with Shelley and David. It wasn’t their fault. I dropped in unannounced and with several problems. One problem was that I was about a month pregnant, but no one, not even the vet knew. Then I had problems with my puppies and, sadly, they had to be taken away. I was spayed, which is a good thing, since I might have issues again. After a couple of months, I was out of trouble and ready to be myself. I now sleep and play and look forward to the new treats and toys my owners bring me.
I have been with Shelley and David for 8 months now. I have a routine that I like to follow. Though I go out on walks in the woods, leashed and sometimes now unleashed, for about 20-50 minutes depending on who is walking me, I still sleep a lot. If you decide to follow me, I will tell you all about the foods, treats and toys I have tried, which ones I liked and didn’t like and where you can get them for your fur friend. Sign up for updates and receive one of my favorite recipes for treats. If you just can’t wait to try it for your fur friend, just drop her a note. I’m sure she’ll send it out to you, but don’t forget to sign up so you don’t miss out on other information about dogs and yummy recipes!
It has been a year now since I arrived at my new home. Things are going great! I have a fenced yard to play in and they are going to expand it for even more room in the woods. I really like sniffing through the pine straw and looking for little critters to chase. Not many areas in the yard to do that, so a larger yard including more woods will be much more fun! I am eating so well, that I am now 76 pounds. Shelley is keeping an eye on what I eat, so I don’t get overweight and can’t run after the critters. They also love me so much, that they signed me up for pet insurance. She’ll be providing a review soon of what she learned.
Well, time to get ready for the new year. Watch for new reviews on more toys, treats, food and information on important health issues.
